A local company has been recognized on a national basis for their performance in a construction job.   Gerken Paving, Inc. of rural Napoleon was awarded the 2012 ‘Quality in Construction’ award from the National Asphalt Paving Association.  The ‘quality in construction’ award recognizes paving jobs completed in line with best practices and standards.          Gerken Paving was awarded for their paving work on U.S. 24 in Liberty Center, from 1.4 miles west of route 109, to three miles east of that interchange.  The company strategically scheduled the surface paving to eliminate any transverse construction joints on the new four-lane highway.
