The Napoleon city council deferred to a recommendation from the golf course advisory committee and passed a resolution to change the previous rates for the upcoming season. Those changes include an increase in membership fees for 2013; but a decrease for greens fees.
In a split vote, Napoleon Council turned down a resolution to purchase a mini excavator needed in a variety of departments. But council did approve specs for the purchase of a new snow plow, and a garbage truck needed in the city. The snow plow is estimated to cost $145,000; and the garbage truck would be another $150,000. Patrick McColley was elected council president pro-tem for this meeting, when the elected president, and usual president pro-tem were unable to attend the Monday meeting.
Napoleon Council reviewed the study for the Oberhaus Sewer line upgrade, estimated to cost up to 1.3 million dollars, which has been ordered by the EPA. That is not a project listed for construction in 2013.
The annual review of liquor licenses indicated no problems; so those will proceed as planned.
A lot split off Commerce drive to enhance the sell-ability of the parcel was approved for economic development.
And Spring cleanup in Napoleon was set for April 29th through May 3rd.
