The topic of tornado sirens was a major discussion item for the Fulton County Commissioners at their recent meeting. The county utilizes a maintenance company to test all the tornado sirens across the county, at an annual cost of $16,250. That cost also covers maintenance and inspections. A concern was the issue, if one siren goes-off due to a tornado warning; they all go off across Fulton County. The system does not have an all-clear to tell residents it is safe again. Following the discussion; no action was taken by commissioners.
And the Fulton County board opened bids for a new van for the Board of Developmental Disabilities, with only one proposal submitted at just under $69,000. That bid is being reviewed before an award is made.
