The new water plant proposed for the city of Napoleon drew plenty of discussion at the Tuesday session for Henry County Commissioners. A representative from the U.S. Department of Agriculture was part of that meeting, along with the Henry County Regional Water and Sewer District, and officials from Liberty Center. A preliminary engineering report still needs to be completed, which would outline some of the costs for the project. A rough early estimate for this new water plant puts the price-tag at about 25-million dollars, which includes some engineering work. Henry County Commissioners would need to adopt a resolution to proceed with an application for funding to the USDA.
The Henry County Commissioners also approved an application for funding through the Ohio Public Works Commission, for a grant to help pay for a bridge replacement on road 7 in Harrison and Damascus Townships. The county is seeking about $238,000 for the project that is estimated at over $475,000.
There was also discussion at the commissioner’s session concerning upgrades to the Henry County computer website.
