The Fulton County Commissioners hosted their 2nd public hearing on a proposal to relocate the rail spur in the village of Delta, to enhance economic development. This move would assist Fulton County Processing Company of Delta, in an expansion tagged at 19.5 million dollars.
The cost to move the rail spur itself would be close to $364,000. Contributors to the project include a community development block grant of $140,000, another $100,000 from the Ohio Rail Commission, with $50,000 coming from Jobs-Ohio. ODOT reports they would contribute $50,000 to the project, if the switch for rail is moved off-site. This expansion is estimated to create 14 new jobs at Fulton County Processing in Delta. Fulton County is also considering financing the county’s revolving loan fund.
