There’s a new ‘chairman of the board’ for the Farmers and Merchants Bankcorp. Jack Johnson was named to that position, replacing David P. Rupp, Jr., who retired from that post, after serving on the board since 2001.
Johnson has been on the board of directors with the Farmers and Merchants State Bank since 1991. He is owner and president of Hawk’s Clothing, Inc. The board of directors has also named Jo Ellen Hornish to the fill the vacancy on both the company’s and bank’s board of directors, with Mr. Rupp’s retirement. Ms. Hornish resides in Defiance, and is president of Advantage Powder Coating, Hornish Brothers Inc., along with Fountain City Leasing.
The Farmers and Merchants State Bank has been a local community bank since 1897.
