It was a night of personnel action for the Patrick Henry school board of education on Monday. The board hired 1998 Napoleon grad, Kyle Lacy as their new middle school principal, coming from the Findlay city schools. Lacy would begin duties Monday in replacing Jen Ripke, pending his release from Findlay. Ripke took a position with the Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center. The Patrick Henry board was also informed that Anita Hieber had resigned as guidance counselor to take a similar position with the Four County Career Center. Hieber’s slot was taken by Morgan Seifert, who was hired as a new guidance counselor. Another resignation was submitted by Joe Pennington, as coach of the girls basketball program at Patrick Henry. A number of supplemental coaching contracts were approved at Patrick Henry for the fall season for freshman and varsity assistants. The football staff will include Ben Schwab, Ben George, Todd Petersen, Bob George, Greg Leonard, Justin Ledderer, and Tom Zgela. The volleyball staff contracts go to Angela Schroeder and Katie Schwab; and to Sheila Brown as an assistant cheerleading advisor. Matthew Keasel was approved for supplemental contracts in band and music.
A new nursing contract was approved between Patrick Henry schools and the Henry County Hospital, at a cost of $36,359 for the coming year.
And the latest treasurer’s update indicated revenues surpassed expenditures in the most recent budget by about $945,000.
The Patrick Henry board went into executive session for evaluation of the superintendent; but no action was taken.
