The city of Wauseon was turned-down in their bid for a downtown revitalization grant; but three projects were approved in Fulton County. Commissioners reviewed that information this week, as Wauseon’s application for $300,000 was denied. 15 business owners in the Wauseon downtown had committed to participate; so they will be contacted about trying again next year.
The projects approved in the community development block grant formula program include a road improvement project for $85,000 in Chesterfield Township, and a $20,000 grant for a water meter replacement project in Fayette. The Oakshade Dairy had pledged $15,000 toward that road improvement project in Chesterfield Township.
And the Fulton County Commissioners have approved a multi-box mailbox project for the county office building in the Wauseon plaza. The post office had informed commissioners, they were no longer going to deliver mail to the plaza site, without the multi-box format. The cost of the 16-slot mailbox is $1,256.
