The financial picture in Henry County government got a significant boost this month, with the release of sale tax revenues. County auditor Kevin Garringer reports the August sales tax receipts topped $324,850; which is a 6.3% increase over last year at this time. That’s also the largest figure for August since 2007; and it’s believed-to-be the second highest total ever in Henry County for sales tax revenues in the 8th month of the year. But sales tax revenue figures for 2013 are still running about $43,000 behind last year at this time. Sales tax receipts generally reflect local sales from three months before.
