A company tied to the agriculture and supplement industry is planning an expansion in Deshler. Graminex was approved for a tax abatement agreement by the Patrick Henry School board, which will open the door for a multi-million dollar investment into the company. The expansion would include a 2 million dollar investment into a new building; along with another 4 million dollars in new equipment. This project would create between 55 and 60 jobs over the next five years.
The tax abatement agreement must also go before the Four County Career Center board of education, along with Henry County Commissioners. Graminex has been producing supplements and wellness products from local pollen extracted from crops around Deshler, for decades, supplying markets in Europe and around the world.
