The village of Deshler is making plans for a major utility replacement project in town. Deshler Council authorized borrowing a half-million dollars from the Corn City Bank, to pay for replacing the natural gas lines in the community. Deshler owns those gas lines, which are maintained by K&G Gas out of Findlay. Deshler is hoping to tackle this project in phases, and replace the lines with plastic. K&G helped with financing the study for this project.
Deshler Council approved a resolution, contracting with Poggameyer Design Group for inspection of bridges within the village.
The Graminex Company approached the village of Deshler about reducing the speed limit adjacent to their plant, for safety reasons. This would reduce the speed limit from 55 to 35 in that area.
And the Corn City Festival was a success, including the fund-raising efforts by the Deshler Development Committee, raising more than $2,400 with their auction. Those dollars will go back into the community, and invested in safety and improvement projects.
