Look for a speed-limit change on the south edge of Deshler, after village council passed that legislation by emergency measure. This will move the speed-limit from 55 to 35 miles per hour on Henry County road C, from the railroad tracks east to county road 2. The move is being made due to increased business activity in that section of town.
And Deshler Council had the second reading on an ordinance to obtain a half-million dollar loan from the Corn City State Bank. This money will be utilized for the residents program, when they switch-over their personal gas lines to plastic. Property owners can finance this cost through the Deshler utility department. More information is available from utilities superintendent Kirk Behrman.
