In a special session of Napoleon city council Monday night, the board gave the city manager authorization to purchase property. The property in question is the former Cane building on North Perry Street, adjacent to the Donovan Law office. The city of Napoleon is hoping to utilize grant dollars for the purchase of that property, and to pay for demolition costs for two buildings that are beyond repair. It’s likely that space will help expand the Main Street parking lot, so some drainage work may also be needed. But Napoleon has to have the demolition complete by the first of December to meet guidelines of the state grant.
