NAPOLEON PARKS AND REC BOARD DIVIDED ON FEE INCREASE
Thursday, September 26, 2013
There were divided opinions on a proposal to raise fees for recreation programs for residents that live outside the city of Napoleon. The proposal was made due to the fact those outside residents do not contribute to the parks and recreation levy fund. A second option was to just increase the fee for non-residents that play at the Napoleon golf course. But none of the motions passed on increasing fees, until the NapoleonParks and Recreation Board reviews more information on current revenues and costs.
A new item was added to the capital improvement list for the Napoleon parks for 2014, and that’s an $8,000 expenditure to repave or rebuild the north walking path that leads from the parking lot to the ball diamond area at OakwoodPark.
Tony Cotter and Mike Saneholtz both echoed ‘thanks’ for the terrific support the ‘friends of the golf course’ have given the city; helping to increase revenues by over $35,000 from last year.
And the Napoleon Rec Board passed a recommendation that Trick-or-Treat night be Thursday, October 31st from till . That will be forwarded to Napoleon city council for final approval.
